My Review:
After a long time I had got a chance to get in the poetry book, as I saw its cover page it clicked with me instantly. The cover page is so beautifully designed, depicting the chaos and pain that gallops in the mind, of course in the heart as well. So true to its title! As I begun reading it, the look at the content table promised that it will turn out to be a heart-rending book.
I commenced with Silent Battles, poetry of emotions whirlwind…profoundly written with terrific moments of the heart buzzing aloud with silent screams. It depicts a struggle of one young daughter and her mother against the oppressions of the society and men and many other odds that perturbed them.
Each word is a string of emotions, of course much pain that exudes in the poetry is drawn from the poet’s life. Thus, it’s rightly said that poetry binds heartbreaks in the most dramatic ways. Her book of poems, long ones, takes readers through a journey of emotions and pains and despair and adversity that she endured but in that she also nurses hopes, resilience, and faith.
Her way of expressing ‘heartsays’ is mesmerizing, takes you on a ride of ebbs and highs of life’s endured by her. Yet in her wording, I could sense nostalgia of solace…she offers strength to her readers. They can resonate with her.
Elicia Guerrero’s book is a fine example of stellar poetry collection that truly captivated my heart and soul. Her words have a magical quality that transports you to different dimensions of thought and immediately stirs feelings. The depth and sincerity with which she writes is truly remarkable. One of the most powerful aspects of this collection is its ability to evoke a wide range of emotions. From heartfelt vulnerability to powerful resilience, she leaves no stone unturned in depicting the complexities of human existence.
